The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) is a division of the American Library Association. Along with information on the organization and its events, the ALSC site has links to reviews of Newbery and Caldecott awardwinning books, a listing of publications relating to children's literacy and learning, and other reading resources for parents, children, librarians, and teachers.

Each year more than 2,500 reviews of children's books appear in Booklist magazine.  The section Books for Youth is organized by age group and fiction/nonfiction.  it includes reviews from the current year.  Cumulative indexes of past volumes of Booklist can be downloaded with Adobe Acrobat Reader.   A helpful resource for parents, teachers, and librarians.

Carol Hurst's Book Reviews appear in Teaching K-8 Magazine.   Featured book review at this site are accompanied by classroom activities, lists of similar books, story themes to discuss, and other ideas for teaching with literature.   Hurst also suggests books and activities by subjects, such as time, color, rivers, and bullies.  There links to articles on selected children's authors, and illustrators, and recommendations by curriculum area for teaching with children;s literature.
