The Elizabeth Public Library subscribes to several online databases that are available to the public. If you have any questions regarding the databases or access, please contact the Reference Department at (908)354-6060, ext. 7203.

Wilson Foundation and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston, it incorporates EBSCO’s previously released American Doctoral Dissertations, 1933-1955, and features additional dissertation metadata contributed by select American colleges and universities.

The Elizabeth Daily Journal Archive covers January 10, 1872 through August 31, 1915. The database is continuously updated as more issues of the newspaper are digitized. The Elizabeth Public Library received a project grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State, to help fund this project.

GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment.

Hoopla

Hoopla is a digital content provider of music, ebooks, audiobooks, movies, comics, and television, with currently more than 400,000 titles available across those formats. Library patrons have access to all content instantly, without having to place a hold or wait for a title to become available.

Registration is required. You will need your Library Card number and PIN code in order to register for an account. Users are allowed five checkouts per month. This service is provided via our membership in LMxAC.

How to Use Hoopla

The Image Collection provides you with instant access to more than 1 million images relating to people, natural science, places, history, and flags. The Image Quick View Collection provides thumbnails of the images in an article right from the EBSCOhost Result List, Citation View, or the Folder.
